This seminar is for anyone going into the woods:
· with children
· with someone who has alzheimer's
· without outdoor skills
· who has been lucky & never had anything go wrong
Seminar objectives are to learn:
· correct outdoor clothing & equipment
· proper nutrition
· how to maintain critical body temperature
· how to prevent hyperthermia & hypothermia
· how to prevent dehydration & make water safe
· how to get around with map & compass
· environmentally friendly practices & etiquette
· use of private & public land in the adirondacks
· land navigation aka "staying found"
